South Africa To Ease Lockdown Measures – Boarders Opening

South Africa’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that his country will from September 21 shift to level one lockdown where domestic travel and tourism will be permitted.

Addressing his nation on television last night, Mr Ramaphosa said it was time to return normality to South Africa.

“Now is the time to return our country, its people and our economy to a situation that is more normal, that more resembles the lives that we were living six months ago,” he said.

South African International borders will open from 1 October 2020.

However, travel may be restricted to and from countries that have high infections and corona virus prevention measures will be observed

South Africa like most countries have been under lockdown since March when the corona virus outbreak hit hard.

Most borders including the Beitbridge border post were closed, restricting travel between Zimbabwe and South Africa.
