Teachers have started receiving the Covid-19 jab in the second phase of the national vaccination program against the Covid-19 which started yesterday.
The government included teachers in the program to protect them from the Covid- 19 as schools re opened for examination classes on Monday and preparations are underway for all remaining students to go back to school next week.
The first phase included the frontline health workers, members of the uniformed forces, journalists and staff at ports of entry.
The first 200 000 Sinophram dose that arrived a month ago was used to start the first phase and about 600 000 doses of vaccines have been delivered in Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, Dr Paul Matsvimbo the provincial medical director in Mashonaland East has reported that they have not yet received the vaccines and they are preparing the number of teachers and elderly who need to be vaccinated.
