Chiwenga To Write A Book On Covid -19 Deaths

Vice President and Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr Costantino Chiwenga has expressed sorrow over the recent deaths of several army generals and vowed to write a book expressing his feelings towards the late government officials who succumbed to the deadly Coronavirus.

In an interview with Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa on ZBC TV Chiwengwa shared the experience he endured when he learnt about the deaths of Perrance Shiri, Sibusiso Moyo and Paradzai Zimhondi.

Chiwenga said Shiri, Zimhondi and Moyo were his great friends and that he had been communicating with them during the time of their deaths that he could not believe it when he had the bad news.

Shiri, Zimhondi, Moyo together with Chiwenga were very influential in the military coup that ousted the late Former President, Robert Mugabe in 2017.

”I didn’t expect to lose such friends, however it gives us the courage that everybody will have his or her own time. We grieve and we understand. All we can say is God give me strength and courage to accept the reality.

”This is now reality, I can not reverse it and no one else can reverse it. What is now important for me is to make sure that all other colleagues are safe and will continue to look for everything that will protect the people of Zimbabwe.” Chiwenga said.

Then he indicated that he is trying to write a book about it all.

”I’m trying to write another book. I oversee also the Agriculture (Ministry) myself and with Dr Anxious Masuka, we must make sure that the Pfumvudza/Intwasa Programme  left by Air Marshal Shiri continues and I will also be going to my small field to see how the cobs will be doing because if we leave you Zimbabweans in poverty you will curse us .”He added.

Meanwhile, Chiwenga reported that the Covid -19 certificate is going to be another passport and the government will continue offering every vaccine to do with Covid-19 freely to every Zimbabweans.

He reported that the government will be the one to offer Covid-19 certificates and no one else.
