The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested more than 5 000 people around the country for violating Covid-19 regulations during the Easter holiday.
In a statement yesterday, ZRP said several people were arrested for not wearing face masks and violating curfew regulations.
“The ZRP reminds the public that the Government’s COVID-19 regulations are still in force. During the Easter Holiday several people were arrested for COVID-19 related breaches across the country as follows:
“2 330, on 04/04/21 – 2 445, on 05/04/21 – 2 505 and on 06/04/21 – 2 511. Most of these arrests were for failure to wear face masks and violating the curfew regulations. The cumulative number of arrests since 30/03/20 now stands at 569 976.” The statement read.
