The Kwekwe district Covid -19 task force, the district rapid response team with advice from the Ministry of Health and Child Care has yesterday resolved to placing the Kwekwe district into three weeks lockdown following the outbreak of the Covid-19 Indian Variant that has hit the town.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health said the lockdown measures will be applied starting today to avoid the continued spread of the Indian Covid -19 Variant.
The Variant was confirmed after samples taken from a Kwekwe man, Robson Kadenhe (76) of Chicago Plots along Gokwe Road, who was a hypertension patient, died last Wednesday after testing positive to the virus.
Kadenhe had a contact with a niece, who had just returned from India.
