Teachers’ Grievances ”Submitted to Mbuya Nehanda”

Amalgamated Rural Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) on Tuesday hold a peaceful protest in Harare CBD near Mbuya Nehanda’s statue carrying  various placards with one of them branded “, we have brought before you the teachers’ grievances.” 

The protest over salaries increment comes amid criticism to the government over the erection of the statue of Mbuya Nehanda when it is failing to address workers’ grievances.

Some of the placards were branded,” Live us a signal to save our education,” ”Pre October 2018 salaries now.”

Teachers are demanding a restoration of their 2018 salaries were they were earning betweenUSD520 and USD550.

Artuz, confirmed the protest on their social media page.

”We promised and we delivered. We were at Mbuya Nehanda statue drawing inspiration to #SaveOurEducationZw A season of sustained protests to #SaveOurEducationZw is upon us.” The post reads.
