The Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities Hon Daniel Garwe officially launched Mashonaland Holdings Mashview Housing Project in Harare today.
The Mashview housing project is located at Bluffhill surbub, near Westgate and the American Embassy, 5 kilometres from the new city Mt Hampden.
Speaking at the launch Hon Daniel Garwe hailed the Mashview housing project adding that the initiative was in line with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s call for development, which will ensure that every Zimbabwean citizen acquire a permanent residential place by 2030.
He added that the National Development Strategy 1 main agenda was to work with other private companies in building the Zimbabwean economy like what Mashonaland Holdings was doing however he also encouraged other private companies to partner with government in developmental projects.
“The project is in line with his excellency, the President and Commander In Chief of Zimbabwe Defense Forces Dr. ED Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 of attaining an Upper Middle Income Economy by 2030, and also resonate with the aspirations of the National Development Strategy [NDS] 1.
“The NDS 1 acknowledges that government can not go it alone and promotes the critical role Public Private Sector Partnership in programme and projects implementation in order to widen the implementation base and promote risk sharing.
“The buy in by private sector players is alleviating the accommodation challenges in the country is commentable and l can only further encourage other like minded private players to come on board and assist the government,” said Hon Garwe.
Meanwhile Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Harare Metropolitan Province Hon Oliver Chidhawu who was also part of the guests, who officially launched the project reiterated that the housing project was a welcome development in ensuring that both rural areas and urban areas acquire these standard houses.
“The Mashview Gardens Housing Project dovetails with Vision 2030 that aims to provide high quality, modern and affordable housing solutions in urban and rural areas,” he said.
Mashonaland Holdings Limited is a property investment and development company in Zimbabwe, providing solutions to the retail, commercial and industrial sector.
