KK’s Birthday Declared National Holiday In Zambia

Zambian President, Edgar Lungu has declared the birthday of the late founding father of Zambia, Dr Kenneth Kaunda as a national holiday.

Posting on his social media page, the Zambian President urged his nation to keep the memory of Kenneth Kaunda, affectionately known as  KK alive.

“I, Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the sovereign republic of Zambia, do hereby declare April 28, the birthday of the late Dr Kenneth Kaunda as a national holiday.

“Let us keep the memory of our founding father alive and the values he espoused which have held our nation together.” He said.

Kenneth Kaunda died on 17 June 2021 in Lusaka, Zambia at the age of 97.
