Mwonzora Trashes Chamisa’s Approach

MDC T President Douglas Mwonzora has criticised MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa’s demonstration methods urging him to use dialogue instead.

Mwonzora sentiments came following MDC Alliance members who have been continuously calling for peaceful demonstrations which always attracts persecution and arrests.

In an Interview with 263times, Advocate Douglas Mwonzora urged Nelson Chamisa to resort to dialogue if he want his political grievances to be addressed as the current situation in the country will not allow demonstrations.

“Mr Chamisa’s methods doesn’t work, he has been trying to call for demonstrations and they were poorly attended that’s the first issue, the second you can not call for demonstrations under these conditions without looking irresponsible so given the political health conditions in the country the only viable method is to use dialogue,” he said.

Security forces banned demonstrations and all gatherings so as to curb the spread of the Covid-19.

Mwonzora accused MDC Alliance of being supported by the G40 faction.

He added that the exiled faction was backing Nelson Chamisa because they wanted to revenge their Zanu Pf counterparts.

Furthermore, the former MDC Alliance Secretary General reiterated that G40 lost the chance to rebuild Zimbabwe in Robert Mugabe era.

“The problem with their party is that it is under the control of G40, under the control of Jonathan Moyo and company. Jonathan Moyo and company are not helping Mr Chamisa’s party because they respect him, they are controlling it so that they pig back on the support, so that they exert revenge on their former colleagues in Zanu Pf that’s why we fundamentally differ with them.

“G40 want to manipulate the opposition, they had their chance to run the affairs of this country, they ran down this country they brought AIPPA, they brought POSA and they brought a brand of politics that I want to get ride of the politics of late, if you look and the writings of those people it’s full of late, it’s full of acrimony that they inherited from Mugabe,” added Mwonzora.

Up to now MDC Alliance have been calling for demonstrations across the country to express their political grief, however given the current situation where gatherings are not allowed because of the corona virus there is need for them to initiate dialogue with other political players.

Reports however has it that advocate Nelson Chamisa remains defiant that a lucrative dialogue he accepts will be between him and the Zanu Pf Leader President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
