Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), Mr Karikoga Kaseke has retired from his position as CEO following a long period of illness.
Kaseke suffered a stroke in November 2018.
His retirement was announced by Dr Precious Sibiya, ZTA Acting Board Chairperson.
In a statement, Dr Sibiya said that Mr Kaseke’s retirement was recommended by the company’s medical board and she further reiterated that Kaseke will be greatly missed.
“The Board and indeed everyone had hopped for his recovery and we continue to pray for the restoration of his health. Dr KK as he is affectionately known, will be sadly missed in the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority in particular and the tourism industry as a whole both locally and beyond our borders.” The statement read in part.
Dr Karikoga Kaseke served ZTA from June 2005.
