The government of India has handed over three vehicles to the government of Zimbabwe under the Indo-Zim project.
Speaking during the handover ceremony in Harare today, Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development (MHTEISTD) Professor Amon Murwira said it is their duty to provide the nation with everything that is needed to achieve vision 2030.
“It is the role of MHTEISTD to provide our nation with the necessary means or capabilities to achieve vision 2030 of an industrialized and modernized nation.
“Today’s event of the handover of vehicles from the government of India to the government of Zimbabwe under the Indo-Zim project is a key enabler to the physical infrastructure pillar of education 5.0,” he said.
Mr Murwira added that they are happy to receive vehicles under the Indo-Zim project.
“On behalf of the government of Zimbabwe, I would love to express our sincere gratitude for the delivery of the 3 vehicles handed over today under the Indo-Zim project, which are part of the 4 vehicles in total that the MHTEISTD shall receive.
“We are also grateful for the Hi-Tech modern equipment (in the areas of tool and Die Making precision machining using computer Aided Design and Manufacturing System) received by our Technology Centers in Harare and Bulawayo, the Indo-Zim centers shall contribute to the industrialization and modernization of zimbabwe,” said Mr Murwira.
India and Zimbabwe have a long history of close and cordial relations. During the era of the Munhumutapa Kingdom, dating back to 14th century and later, Indian merchants established strong links with Zimbabwe, trading in textiles, minerals and metals.
