Hip-hop musician Alishias Musimbe famously known as Maskiri says the best is yet to come in his music career.
The 39 years old has not yet released a hit song for a while now assured his fans that they should expect a hit song from him soon.
In an interview with 263 Times, Maskiri said he was born a singer and a star.
“I was born a singer, I am a talented singer and an artist.
“I have no hidden meaning in my songs, I say it as it is,” said Maskiri.
Maskiri added that life is a series of peaks and valleys, sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down.
“I performed best during the times when we had Gala whereby we could sing with other talented singers such as Simon Chimbetu.
“I also experienced the worst times when the audience did not show up in an expected number, since back then when I started singing a number of people were not aware of hip-hop music (rapping),” he said.
Moreover, Maskiri said he feels great whenever he release a new song, recently he released a song titled first time which he collaborated with Vimbai Zimuto.
“I never give up on my career thus singing, I recently released a new song tittle First Time.
“I collaborated with Vimbai Zimuto in this song, you can watch it on my YouTube channel,” added Maskiri.
Meanwhile, Maskiri said he is grateful that he manage to have money through his YouTube channel, he is managing through this pandemic.
“Though the music industry is reeling from the effects of COVID-19, and the necessary introduction of the government’s evolving social distancing advice I have managed to get my income from my YouTube channel,” said Maskiri.
On Saturday 27 November 2010, Maskiri alongside fellow artist Nox Guni went on set to shoot visuals for Wenera, Maskiri’s first ever music video which became top ZBC video of the year and won a NAMA. Wenera music video was directed by Chagwa Black and was shot on location in Pretoria, South Africa.
