Licensed Bars across the country (not shebeens) can now open for those who are vaccinated for the first time since March 2020.
This was announced by the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting services, Monica Mutsvangwa during today’s post cabinet briefing.
Addressing the media in Harare, Minister Mutsvangwa said bars will open under strict Covid-19 guidelines.
“All licensed bars can now open to fully vaccinated clients. Bar owners are also required to ensure that Covid-19 protocols and guidelines are enforced, failure of which licenses are withdrawn,” she said.
Meanwhile, the level two lockdown has been extended by another two weeks.
As of yesterday, Zimbabwe’s cumulative COVID-19 cases stood at 131 205, with 123 947 recoveries and 4 627 deaths. The recovery rate stood at 94%, with 99% of cases being attributable to local transmission. Active cases stand at 2 631.
