Mwonzora Responds To SONA

MDC T leader, Douglas Mwonzora has responded to the State Of the National Address (SONA) delivered yesterday by the President.

Addressing the media today, Mwonzora said there are a number of things said in the SONA that his party agree with whereas there are also a number of things that they do not agree.

“Issues that we agree with include the preposition that in order to promote Zimbabwean industry and to promote manufacture we must promote the campaign of biotechnology Zimbabwe, Zimbabweans should be encouraged to purchase those things manufactured in Zimbabwe.

“We urge manufactures to make sure their standards are acceptable, we want people to buy from Zimbabwe manufactures,” said Mwonzora.

Mr Mwonzora added that young farmers should be considered and moved to another level of greatness.

“Young farmers who are energetic full of energy with a lot of imagination should be encouraged, young farmers need to be supported, government must give these farmers access to credit.

“There is also a more demand on electricity, all electricity projects that have not been completed especially in Hwange should be completed,” Mwonzora said.

However, Mr Mwonzora said there are a number of things they do not agree with.

“However, there are a lot of the things that we do not agree with, that includes the issue of corruption, we need the government to tackle corruption more seriously.

Furthermore, Mr Mwonzora said economic resources should be shared equally.

“We have not seen fair distribution of economic resources, we demand fair distribution of economic resources.

“Displacement of Zimbabweans by new coming investors before any Zimbabwean is displaced from their land there must be full alternative put in place which will make sure that people who have been displaced get enough housing, schools, hospitals and fair compensation of these people deprived of their land,” said Mwonzora.
