ZESA To Switch Off Power In Mutare

Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), a subsidiary of the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) has announced planned power interruption in Mutare.

ZESA’s notice in Mutare comes at a time when the rest of the country is constantly facing power cuts everyday, a measure which the power utility company insists is meant to repair dilapidated infrastructure at power generation centers.

In a statement, the power utility company stressed that most Mutare suburbs will run without electricity for 12hours.

“The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) would like to advise its valued customers in Mutare that there will be interruption of power supplies on Sunday, 21st November 2021 between 0600 hours and 1800 hours to carry out maintenance works on the Mutare 132kV supply line.

“The following areas will be without power during the maintenance period: CBD, Darlington, Morning side, Greenside, Bordervale, Marymount, Palmerstone, Nyakamete Industrial area, Quest, Willowton, Fairbridge Park, Hospital hill, General Hospital, Murambi, Three Brigade, Yeovil, Westlea, Adams Barracks, Florida, Chitungo, Chineta, NHB, Macgregors, Forbes Border Post, Christmas Pass TV Must, Government Complex, Mutare Teachers College, Beira Corridor and the surrounding areas.

“Customers are advised to treat all electrical installations as LIVE as power can be restored without notice.

“The inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted,” reads the statement.
