Roy Keane has been speaking about the Premier League title race after Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday evening.
He predicted Manchester City will win the Premier League title this season as the champions gained two points on Chelsea this weekend.
The Blues played out a 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, with Jorginho ensuring the points were shared at Stamford Bridge with a 69th minute penalty following Jadon Sancho’s opener.
Meanwhile, Liverpool picked up a crucial three points on Saturday afternoon with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Southampton at Anfield, while Manchester City secured a 2-1 win against West Ham United on Sunday.
Chelsea remain top of the Premier League table, but are now just one point clear of Man City and two ahead of the Reds.
Keane, when speaking on Sky Sports’ coverage of Chelsea’s draw with Man United, thinks Man City will retain their Premier League title this season.
“I wrote off City last year and regretted it because they turned it on and won it so easily. As brilliant as Chelsea and Liverpool are I think at the moment in time I’d go with City.” said Keane.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher also shared his prediction, agreeing with Keane that it will be Man City for the second season on the bounce.
“Liverpool have dropped silly points this season but I’m with Roy I’d just go with Man City.
“Liverpool kept clean sheets but looked open City defensively look really strong, Liverpool are scoring all the goals but I’d just go with City at this moment in time,” he said.
Roy Maurice Keane is an Irish football manager and former professional player, he is the joint most successful Irish footballer of all time, having won 19 major trophies in his club career, 17 of which came during his time at English club Manchester United.
