Edison Cavani could be set for a switch to Barcelona next month after suffering lake of game time at Manchester United.
Reports say, Barcelona have made a move for Manchester United veteran Edinson Cavani ahead of the transfer window reopening next month.
Cavani has only featured fleetingly for United this term. The recent change of management at the club has also complicated matters; something that Barcelona are seemingly keen to take advantage of.
Barca are set to offer the Uruguay striker an 18-month deal to try and entice the 34-year-old into seeing his career out in La Liga.
A report from Mundo Deportivo earlier in the week claimed that Cavani would be open to becoming a part of Xavi’s rebuilding project in Catalonia – even though the club were dumped out of the Champions League last week.
Meanwhile, the Catalan giants are expected to be busy in January despite their well-documented financial woes.
However, new Barca boss Xavi Hernandez has a huge rebuilding project on his hands, with the Spaniard known to be in the market for a striker.
The club have been linked with a host of strikers in recent weeks, but a new name has now emerged as a potential target.
