Musona Joins Warriors Camp Ahead Of Afcon Tournament

Warriors captain Knowledge Musona has joined camp in Cameroon to prepare for the 2022 Africa Cup Of Nations [AFCON] tournament which is scheduled to start on Sunday this week.

Musona arrived in Cameroon on Tuesday evening.

Only two players are yet to join the team with striker Admiral Muskwe expected to meet up with his teammates at the Yaounde Airport enroute to Baffousam where the Warriors are going to be based for their Group B matches.

Utility player, Jordan Zemura who is still at his base in England after a Covid-19 outbreak at his club Bournemouth, is expected to join the team on Friday.

The Warriors had their last training session in Yaounde on Tuesday with Tino Kadewere and David Moyo taking part, while Kudakwashe Mahachi resumed light training after picking up a knock in the friendly match against Sudan.

The Warriors open their AFCON campaign with a date against Senegal on Monday before meeting Malawi on the 14th and Guinea on the 18th of January.

Meanwhile, Zambia have been placed on standby to feature at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in case Zimbabwe are banned by the Federation of International Football Association (Fifa).
