Main opposition party leader, Nelson Chamisa has changed his party name from the controversial MDC Alliance to Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) ahead of the by-elections that are set to be held on March 26.
Addressing journalists in Harare this afternoon, Chamisa said the new party name, “is a new baby, that has come with new everything.”
He said the new party colours are gold and yellow and they have a new symbol where one will raise the fore finger meaning “Number one.”
The party structure will also be reshuffled and the president of the CCC said it will be announced in due course.
Chamisa said he is leaving everything else behind for his “adversaries who have been fighting his party from day one.”
“The liberation struggle was about the sovereignty of the people, the decision of the people. The politician has replaced the citizen, we want to remove the politician from the center of decision making, policy making, law making so that we have the citizen.
“The politician must be the servant not the master and the citizen must be the master.” Said Nelson Chamisa.
