A 41-year-old man from Mukumbura died on Tuesday at Parirenyatwa Hospital where he had been admitted after he was brutally assaulted by his 40-year-old neighbour.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the now deceased, who has not been named, was assaulted by his neighbour Moses Mangezi who was reportedly tired of his frequent visits to his homestead.
The victim sustained serious head injuries and was ferried to Parirenyatwa Hospital where died six days later.
In a statement Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said they were investigating about the crime.
“The ZRP is investigating a case of murder which occurred at Chirandure Village, Mukumbura on January 19, 2022, where Moses Mangezi aged 40 fatally assaulted his neighbour, a man aged 41 after a misunderstanding over frequent visits, by the victim, to the suspect’s residence.
“The victim sustained serious head injuries and died on January 25, 2022, at Parirenyatwa Hospital where he was admitted.
On another unrelated story the police also gave a crime update in Kadoma.
“In an unrelated incident, Police in Kadoma arrested seven suspects aged 36; 15; 35; 36; 25; 26 and 22 in connection with a murder case which occurred at Rock Farm, Turf, Kadoma.
“A polygamist teamed up with his son and five wives and fatally assaulted the victim (26) who had visited their residence, over an undisclosed matter,” reads the police statement.
