The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has introduced a new Zimbabwe General Certificate of Education certificate for ordinary and advanced levels in line with global assessment trends.
The issuance of the new certificates starts this month with the first batch being for the November 2020 certificates.
All certificates issued before November 2020 are still valid for use both locally and internationally.
In a statement ZIMSEC stated the importance of issuing the new certificates.
“This will prove the security and safeguard the integrity of the certificates and qualifications through the new advanced security features which have been included.
“The examination board also noted that ZIMSEC offers a facility where certificates can be verified for authenticity to curb fraudulent qualifications being presented to institutions,” stated the statement.
Furthermore, ZIMSEC said they offer a facility where certificates can be verified for authenticity to curb the use of fraudulent certificates.
The service is offered to public and private institutions, educational institutions, embassies and regional and international qualifications authorities.
