Reasons Why Twitter Suspended George Charamba’s Account

Microblogging site Twitter, has suspended President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesperson’s Account.

The microblogging site, suspended George Charamba’s account which went under the username @Jamwanda2.

No reason was given for the suspension but other Twitter users suggested that he may have violated Twitter’s community rules.

Influential freelance Journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono  suggested that the reason for the suspension may be related to a picture that Charamba posted which depicted a naked woman reliving herself.

In the post Charamba meant to pock fun at the Nelson Chamisa led CCC party. The picture is of an ANC activist reliving herself behind a tree but was edited and inscripted with the letters CCC in an attempt to mock the party.

“President Mnangagwa’s spokesman posted a picture of a half naked woman on Twitter breaking Twitter rules,” said Chin’ono.

He went on to tweet that the Government is wrong in thinking that rules are meant to be broken.

“He gets removed for doing so, and a whole Government and ruling part machinery is out claiming that it was his democratic right to break rules? They are used to impunity!,” continued Chin’ono.

Twitter has a set of rules that users have to abide by, failure to which they close offending accounts.
