The Zimbabwe Union of Journalists {ZUJ}says political parties should create an environment where all journalists cover the ongoing by-election campaigns without fear.
ZUJ’s message comes after Citizens Coalition for Change {CCC} banned journalists who work for Zanu Pf to cover their rallies.
In a statement ZUJ says political parties should guarantee press freedom to all media practitioners.
“As the nation gears for the March 26 2022 by-elections ZUJ would like to urge all political parties in the country to accord unfetted access to all media during rallies and Press Conferences.”
Zimbabwean media has always been polarised during election campaign.
The state media cover Zanu Pf rallies whilst private media cover the opposition.
