Zimbabwe Agricultural Development Trust (ZADT) has facilitated the official launch of the African Development Bank Group’s Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Multi-Donor Trust Fund (YEI MDTF) trainings and mentorship for youth-led MSMEs in Zimbabwe.
The launch was implemented by the African Guarantee Fund.
YEI MDTF trainings addressed issues affecting youth-led businesses in the broader value chain in relation to formalization and preparedness to access financing.
Speaking during the launch, deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Dr Jesimen Tarisai Chipika said YEI MDTF supports Africa’s entrepreneurship ecosystems by promoting the creation of sustainable jobs for young Africans.
“YEI MDTF supports Africa’s entrepreneurship ecosystems by promoting the creation of sustainable jobs for young Africans through equipping youth and women-led start-ups as well as MSMEs with the skills, financial support and enabling environments to run bankable businesses.
“Organizations which are active in facilitating access to finance and entrepreneurship development for the previous excluded sectors of our economy in which woman and youth are key learners, we encourage them to continue increasingly support for the small holder farming sector,” she said.
The Zimbabwe Agricultural Development Trust (ZADT) was created on the 5th of October 2010 by SNV Netherlands Development Organization and Humanistic Institute for Development Cooperation (Hivos) for the primary purpose of contributing to the recovery and improvement of the smallholder farming sector.
