Vice President, Constantino Chiwenga has married his long-term girlfriend, army Colonel Miniyothabo Baloyi.
A secret video obtained by a local publication verified the union.
In the video, Chiwenga is seen being interrogated by a Zimbabwe Statistical Agency enumerator, and the Vice President is overheard telling the enumerator that he is currently living with Baloyi, referring to her as his wife.
When asked who had slept at his house on census night, Chiwenga answered, “I am sleeping here with my husband, Baloyi, and the children” (April 20, 2022).
Originally from Nkayi, the 46-year-old Baloyi is said to be one of the sharp minds in the Zimbabwean National Army (ZNA).
She holds a Doctorate in Business Studies from the Midlands State University (MSU) and two masters degrees from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) and the Midlands State University (MSU).
She speaks six languages including Mandarin, French and Zulu, among others.
