WhatsApp Set To Increase Group Participant Number Again

Tech giant WhatsApp is frequently working on updates to improve user experience on the platform.

As per the latest report, the instant-messaging platform is increasing the limit on participants for groups.

For the longest time, WhatsApp only allowed a maximum of 256 users to join a group. But recently, the cap was raised to 512 people.

And now as per the latest reports, the tech giant is all set to double the limit and allow over a thousand members to join groups on WhatsApp.

Soon WhatsApp will roll out an update which will give users the ability to add up to 1,024 participants to groups, for some beta testers, a report in WABetaInfo said.

The upcoming feature is already available on WhatsApp beta for a few Android and iOS users, the report further said.

The report mentioned that if any user wants to check if the feature is available on their WhatsApp account, they can try to create a group or add new participants to an existing one.

WhatsApp is also developing new tools to give admins more control over these larger groups in the future, such as a list of pending participants and an approval system, as per the report.

In May, along with new features, the company rolled out the ability to add up to 512 people to a group of 256 people.

The feature will be available for all once it’s released officially worldwide.
