Police Give An Update On Plaxedes Mahlahla, The Woman Who Allegedly Kept Late Hubby’s Dead Body In Her House

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has assured the nation that they are still investing in a case in which a Zengeza 3 woman in Chitungwiza kept her husband’s dead body with his son Grant Mashasha in the house for nearly 14 years.

The woman was arrested Tuesday on the grounds that she failed to inform the police for at least five days after her husband’s death.

The anomalous incident was discovered on Monday by a locksmith in Zengeza 3, which the woman had hired to open the doors of her house.

It is reported that the husband of the woman was last seen by neighbours over 12 years before his death in his Zengeza home in Harare.

Posting on their Twitter handle, the police assured the nation that they will give full details about the matter when they finish investigations.

“The ZRP assures the public that investigations are being conducted in connection with an incident in which an 80 year old man was found dead with the son, Grant Mashasha (39) hiding in the ceiling on 21/11/22 at a certain house in Zengeza 3, Chitungwiza.

“Once the Police establish the full details, the public will be informed accordingly. The late Gideon Mashasha’s wife has since been interviewed by the Police,” reads the post.

However, Mahlahla (the woman) told a local publication on Monday that she married her husband in 1992, and he suffered a stroke shortly after, forcing him to use a wheelchair.
