Four people were arrested on Sunday in connection with a Limpopo vigilante attack in which a 22-year-old man was killed.

Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the victim was killed in a “vigilante-related incident” in Nkomo village on Wednesday.

He said the man had been accused of stealing clothes and cellphones before a group assaulted him.

He died of his injuries, Ledwaba said.

The murder was reported to the police in Giyani, and an investigation led officers to four men, aged between 20 and 31.

“They were arrested on Sunday and will soon face a murder charge when they appear before Giyani Magistrate’s Court,” said Ledwaba.
