Chelsea New Signing Joao Felix Braces For Fulham Tie

Zimbabwean News You Can Trust.

Chelsea knew signing Joao Felix is preparing to add more flesh to the squad when the blues play Fulham today.

The Portugal striker has been registered on the Premier League website, making him available for today’s clash.

Addressing the media after completing a loan move of £9.7m from Athletico Madrid to Chelsea, Joao Felix said he will try his best to ensure that the blues get back to their winning days.

“Chelsea is one of the great teams in the world and I hope to help the team reach their objectives, so I am very, very happy to be here and very excited to play at Stamford Bridge,” he said.

But Chelsea Head Coach Graham Potter insisted that Chelsea can’t rely on Joao Felix to turn around their season while also revealing that he could make his debut for them against Fulham today.

He added that Joao Felix is a good player with experience hence he can make an impact in the blues squad.

“He’s a quality player. He can make a difference in the final third. He is young but has a lot of really good experience. He’s a quality player that brings everyone a lift.”

Felix travelled to London on Tuesday to undergo a medical ahead of joining Chelsea for the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old becomes Chelsea’s fourth signing of the month following the arrivals of Benoit Badiashile, David Datro Fofana and Andrey Santos.

Felix joined Atletico from Benfica in a €126m (£111m) deal from Benfica in 2019.
