“Potter Is Not The Right Manager To Coach Chelsea”

Zimbabwean News You Can Trust.

Former AS Monaco striker, Victor Ikpeba, has told Chelsea that their current head coach, Graham Potter, is not the right manager to coach the Blues.

Ikpeba also questioned Chelsea’s decision to sign Enzo Fernandez for a British record of £107million, asking if the Argentina World Cup winner is better than N’Golo Kante.

The former Super Eagles star spoke on Monday Night Football, SuperSport’s magazine show on DStv.

“It is a new environment for them, spending £107million for a World Cup champion (Enzo Fernandez) at that age,” Ikpeba said.

“What can he change? Is he better than Jorginho or N’Golo Kante that they had before?

“I don’t think that Graham Potter is the right manager for this Chelsea side,” he added.

Ikpeba’s utterances come after the London giants are not in form this season. The crisis has prompted the Chelsea owner, Todd Boehly to spend on the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, Germany manager Hansi Flick was seen at Stamford Bridge, instantly sparking rumours that he may be in some conversations to take over Chelsea. However, Romano has claimed that there are still no plans to replace Potter, despite the uninspiring form continuing.

Apparently, it looks for all the world as if Potter is being given adequate time to mould together a team under his identity after two consecutive heavy transfer windows at the club.

This perhaps only comes as a surprise due to the history Chelsea have under the previous ownership of being cut-throat in their approach to managers, not giving them the time many others would in their situations.

Chelsea is currently on the 9th place in the Premier League table as it played a stalemate with Fulham over the weekend.
