The 2023 Bonaqua Africa Triathlon Cup will be held on April 1 at Troutbeck in Nyanga, event Director, Rick Fulton has said.
This year’s Bonaqua Africa Cup Troutbeck is the 15th edition.
Addressing Journalists in Harare today at Triathlon media workshop and launch, Fulton highlighted some positives the event has brought to local athletes.
He said, “I think it’s a critical component for the sports because it’s an international level event so it will obviously expose all our athletes at whatever level and whatever age.”
The glittering workshop was attended by various sponsors like Ecocash, Coca-Cola, African Sun, Cimas to mention just a few.
Speaking at the workshop, Coca-Cola Marketing Manager, Faith Nehanda said as Coca-Cola they are proud to sponsor sporting activities in Zimbabwe as it brings “great value to the country”.
“The Coca-Cola company and our partner Schweppes Zimbabwe limited through the Bonaqua Brand are proud to invest in sports, globally we sponsor sporting events which include the FIFA world cup, the Olympics among others.
“In Zimbabwe we value our nine year relationship with the triathlon sport, we are pleased to sponsor this event which has been of great value to the country and to the athletes,” she said.
Meanwhile, Ecocash Brand marketing Manager Shingirirai Mazambane said as Ecocash they are happy to sponsor an event which is recognized internationally.
She said, “As ecocash we are excited to be part of the Bonaqua Africa Triathlon Cup for the second year running.
“For us it’s been a tremendous experience as an all inclusive brand, this is really exciting and fulfilling event as we have an opportunity to contribute in an event that is recognized internationally which allows brand interacting within that space.”
The Bonaqua Africa Triathlon cup Troutbeck started in 1995 and has over the years grown to be an annual event.
