Palestine Urges UN To Act As Israeli Brutal Killings Continue

The Embassy of Palestine in Harare has urged the international community to protect Palestinians from “unjustified” killings by Israeli forces.

In a statement, Palestine said the international community should act immediately, so that it ends the conflict between the two countries.

The statement reads, “The Palestinian people are facing a serious threat to their very existence on their land”. The Huwara program is becoming a daily reality for tens of thousands of Palestinians who fear for their lives.

“From Al Luban Al Sharqiya, to Turmus Ayya, to Burqa, Ein Simiya, and previously Khirbet Humsah, Ras Al_Teen and Khan Al Ahmar, Israel’s war crimes are escalating and perpetrated interchangeably by the occupation army and settler militias.

“Empty condemnation and expressions of concerns will not protect the undefended Palestinian people from Israeli racial terrorism.

“The United Nations Security Council, the Secretary-General, and responsible state actors have a duty to immediately act to provide protection for the Palestinian people. The international community must, without any delay, hold Israeli officials and terrorist settlers accountable for their crimes.”

As the conflict between Israel and Palestine is worsening, the international community is on record calling for a peaceful resolution. Other super powers, like the United States, have also advised the duo to adopt the two state solution, which they think will be a panacea for the longstanding battle.

Meanwhile, Palestinian residents and human rights groups have long complained about Israel’s inability or refusal to halt settler attacks. In Wednesday’s rampage, residents in Turmus Ayya said about 400 settlers marched down its main road, setting cars, homes and trees ablaze.

Mayor Lafi Adeeb told Wafa that 12 residents were wounded by live fire and more than 60 vehicles and 30 homes were set on fire.

He called on the international community to provide protection for Palestinians, noting that Turmus Ayya is surrounded by a number of illegal settlements and is exposed on a daily basis to settler attacks.
