A Chitungwiza man from Zengeza 3 suburb was reportedly robbed at gun point.

According to a police report, three unknown male adults robbed Elliot Jongwe Muzanganembo in his tuckshop at Zengeza 3 shops.

They allegedly fired 3 shots into the air and demanded money before getting away with Muzangenhamo’s Itel P15 and ltel cellphones, jacket, US$300-00 airtime cards and US$150-00 cash.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) provincial spokesperson for Harare, Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the incident and advised that investigations were in progress.

“Complainant was in his tuckshop at Zengeza 3 shops. A Honda fit white in colour with no number plates stopped in front of the tuckshop and one unknown male adult disembarked from the Honda fit and entered into the tuckshop pretending to be a customer.

“The unknown male adult grabbed complainant from behind demanding cash. The complainant told the accused person that he had no cash. The accused person produced an unidentified pistol and fired one shot into the air.

“The other unknown male adult disembarked from the accused person’s motor vehicle, searched the complainant and stole complainant’s Itel P15 and ltel cellphones, jacket, US$300-00 airtime cards and US$150-00 cash. The two accused persons left the complainant and ran into their gate away car and fired two shots before they drove away.

“A report was at ZRP St Mary’s. Scene was attended and police team recovered two spent blank gun cartridges. CID Homicide team discovered that the fired cartridges were from a blank gun. The accused persons were not located. Total value stolen is US$570-00 and nothing was recovered.” reads the report made to the police.
