Independent Presidential candidate in the forthcoming harmonized elections, Savior Kasukuwere, has heeped praises on legendary ex-warriors Captain, Peter Ndlovu after the later paid a courtesy call at the former’s campaign headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa yesterday.
In a Twitter post, Kasukuwere said, “Zimbabwe’s greatest soccer giant Peter Ndlovu paid a courtesy call, hold your breath the future is beckoning.”
Meanwhile, award winning jounalist and film maker Hopewell Chino’no suggested that Kasukuwere’s candidature would likely impede President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s chances of winning the upcoming polls.
“In an act of solidarity, Zimbabwe’s best footballer of his generation, Peter Ndlovu paid a courtesy call at Saviour Kasukuwere’s campaign HQ In Johannesburg. Whilst Kasukuwere wrestles with Mnangagwa through proxies in courts, many are seeing him as an act of salvation in splitting Mnangagwa’s vote,” said Chin’ono.
ZANU PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa recently said Kasukuwere was a thug who should not be granted permission to participate in the elections.
“He should stop his ambitions because he is just a thug,” Mutsvangwa said.
Tomorrow the Supreme Court is expected to hear an urgent application by Kasukuwere challenging the High Court’s decision to reverse his nomination.
