US rapper DaBaby, born Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, will jet into Zimbabwe for a performance at Old Hararians Sports Club on September 23 according to Roar Entertainment event planners.
“On September 23rd, DaBaby will perform live at Old Hararians in Zimbabwe. The Talk Chart DaBaby Concert is a must-see event,” said Road Ent in a statement.
“I can’t wait to see y’all. From Mabvuku to Borrowdale, make sure you get your tickets right now,” DaBaby is quoted as saying, before adding that he might then spend a couple of days afterwards.
The event comes as a follow-up to Roar Entertainment’s much-hyped gig where they hosted another American rapper Rick Ross last year.
According to co-organizer Shaleen “Ms Shally” Nullens, Roar Entertainment is putting on the “Talk Chart DaBaby concert” in Zimbabwe, which will “effectively shut down the nation.”
The news which has been trending on social media has attracted mixed reactions with most music followers either professing lack of knowledge of the award-winning Hip Hop artiste or the logic of roping in Jah Prayzah – a largely traditional musician– as his main supporting act instead of local Hiphop artists.
