In a shocking and bizarre incident, a Harare man reportedly discovered a newly born dead foetus along Mnangagwa Road, formerly known as Enterprise Road in Highlands.
According to a report made to the police, the informant, Tapiwa Mahwite, was doing his gardening at home when he was called by his children who were playing behind Chigayo Inn Bar, alerting him that they had seen something which looked like a baby.
Upon arrival at the site, Mahwite discovered a newly born foetus which was already dead, and he reported the matter to the police. The foetus was taken to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for postmortem.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) provincial spokesperson for Harare Luckmore Chakanza confirmed about the tragic incident.
“On 1 August 2023 at around 1220hrs, the informant was at his home doing some gardening. He was then called by his children who were playing by the side of a durawall behind Chigayo Inn bar saying that they had noticed something which looked like a baby. The complainant went on to investigate and discovered a newly born foetus but it was already dead. The foetus was referred to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for post mortem,” said Chakanza.
