In a shocking and disturbing incident that has left the Kuwadzana community in shock, a man in the high desnity suburb of Harare is alleged to have raped his 4 year old daughter.
According to a report made to the police, the victim’s grandmother was asleep in her room when she heard the child screaming.
The victim’s grandmother then reportedly went to the victim’s room to check on her. The victim is alleged to have revealed that her father had reportedly had raped her.
Upon discovering this shocking incident the victim’s grandmother proceeded to Kuwadzana police station where she made a report.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Harare provincial spokesperson Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the incident and said investigations are in progress.
“The accused person is the complainant’s biological father. On 26 August 2023 at around 0200 hours, the informant who is grandmother to the complainant was asleep in her bedroom when she heard a loud cry from the complainant who was sleeping with the accused person in a separate room. The informant took the complainant and asked her why she was crying and she revealed that her father had raped her once without protection.
“The informant checked complainant’s vagina and discovered some blood stains. A report was made at ZRP Kuwadzana. Scene was attended and no arrest was made. The complainant was escorted to Sally Mugabe hospital for medical examination,” said Chakanza.
