Brothers Lose US$5000 To Robbers In Kuwadzana

Two brothers from Gokwe were allegedly robbed recently in Kuwadzana 7, Harare.

They lost over US$4 850.

The siblings were allegedly robbed by a group of seven unknown assailants at Kuwadzana 7 Bus Stop, along Bulawayo Road where they had made a stop, intending to relieve themselves.

According to a report made to the police, the two brothers were driving their car along Bulawayo Road. They stopped at Kuwadzan 7 bus stop to relieve themselves. Upon alighting from their vehicle, a Nissan Wolf truck, the suspects pounced on then, pinning them to the ground whilst searching them.

The suspects allegedly got away with US$4 850, two cell phones, a Techno Spark 8 and Redmi, snooker sticks, 18 snooker balls and a small fridge.

Zimbabwe Republic Police ZRP Harare provincial spokesperson Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the incident and said investigations are underway.

“On the 27th day of August 2023, and at around 2200hrs, the two complainants who are brothers were driving a Nissan Wolf Registration number AEL 8269along Bulawayo Road due west. They decided to stop at Kuwadzana 7 bus stop, as they intended to relieve themselves. Whilst they were relieving themselves, a group of 7 men approached them wearing black jackets. The accused persons tripped them to the ground and pinned them down whilst others were searching their pockets.

“The accused persons took two cell phones, a Techno Spark 8 and Redmi, and cash amounting to US $ 4850-00 from complainant number 01’s pockets. They further took07 snooker sticks inscribed Summer Rain, 18 snooker balls and a small fridge inscribed energizer before disappearing into the darkness. The total value stolen is US $ 5560-00, and nothing was recovered. The complainants suffered no injuries,” reads the docket.
