The Nelson Chamisa led Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has allowed its elected House of Assembly members to participate in the 10th Parliamentary session despite having rubbished the results of the just ended harmonized elections.
This comes after the Parliament of Zimbabwe issued a statement calling all elected Members of Parliament to come for the swearing in ceremony to be held in Harare tomorrow.
The CCC spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi said they have taken the stance as a way of protecting the constituencies they won.
“What l can tell is we are not surrendering any of our zones of autonomy,” he said. “If a man has thirty goats and lose ten to thieves, he keeps the remaining twenty but at the same time pushing for the stolen ten to be recovered.”
Mkwanzi said even if Chamisa had won an election the party was going to regard the election as not free and fair.
Political analyst Pedzisai Ruhanya said the CCC MPs won under difficult circumstances and have the right of representing people in parliament.
He said Zimbabwe never had a free and fair election and difficult for the opposition.
Initially, the CCC had called for election re-run under the supervision of SADC and AU.
