Another case of armed robbery reported in Chisipite, as four assailants allegedly broke into a house and attacked a security guard manning the house before getting away with US$ 30 000 in cash.
According to a report made to the police, Allen Chasauka was attacked by four assailants while conducting perimeter checks at the property. The attackers jumped over the durawall and hit Chasauka’s left side with a riffle, force marched him to the main house where Zhou Shihong and his friends were having dinner in the dining room.
Zimbabwe Republic Police Provincial (ZRP) spokesperson for Harare, Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the incident.
“On 16 September 2023 at around 2115 hours, four accused persons jumped over the durawall and approached complainant 1 who was carrying out some perimeter checks. The accused persons were putting on face masks and they were armed with two riffles and a pistol.
“The accused persons hit the complainant on the left side of his head with the butt of a riffle and force marched him to the main house where complainant 2 and his friends were having dinner in the dining room. The friends are, Zhou Wang, Yao Daqing, Wei Hui and Xu Daoxing.
“Whilst in the house, the accused persons assaulted the complainants with the butt of the riffles whilst demanding cash. They ordered everyone to lie down facing downwards and went on to tie their hands using their shoe laces. The accused persons searched all of them and took their cellphones from each of them.
“The accused persons further assaulted the complainant who then led the accused persons to the room where he had hidden cash amounting to US$30 000-00 and they took the money. The accused persons then ordered the complainants to remain on the ground and they went out of the house and left the cellphones on the table.
“Total value stolen is USD$30 000-00. A report was made at ZRP Highlands. Scene was attended by number 066914G Sergeant Matambo and number 066528M Constable Chinhema. Detective Inspector Mirimbo of CID Homicide was advised. No arrests or recoveries were made.
“Complainant 1 and Complainant 2 did not sustain visible injuries, however three of the Chinese sustained swollen mouth, fallen front tooth and head injuries and were rushed to Trauma Medical Center in Borrowdale for medical attention. ZRP Highlands IR 39/23 refers,” reads the docket.
