Zimbabwe’s leading brewer Delta Beverages has launched the Carling Black Label DJ clashes for mainstream participants, and the winners will contest the national finals on December 22 in Bulawayo this year.

In 2022 Carling Black Label, DJ Clashes targeted aspiring university students, but on this year’s edition it will be for the mainstream.

In a press statement, Delta said regional competitions have already started in Masvingo, while listing and providing dates for the eight regions to participate in this year’s edition.

Delta added that only 24 DJ’s will qualify for the national finals in December, and the winner will scoop a huge prize.

“Carling Black Label is thrilled to launch the Carling Black Label DJ Clash competition
this year. Music plays an integral part in our consumers’ lives, and what better way to
Engage our consumers through what they love.

“Last year, the Carling Black Label DJ clashes were launched on a modest scale, targeting aspiring university student DJs. The property was a huge success, with overwhelming support and excitement from both participants and our consumers. As a result, the decision
was made to expand it to the mainstream market.

“Regional competitions started in Masvingo on the 27th October 2023 till 15
December 2023. Our consumers will get a chance to share their voice by voting for
the best DJs through a sound meter. The first prize will be USD 500 and second
prize USD 250.

“Eight regions will participate namely, Bulawayo on 24 November, Harare North on 15 December, Harare South on 1 December, Chitungwiza on 8 December, Chinhoyi on 10 November, Gweru on 17 November, and Mutare on 3 November.

“A total of 24 DJs will qualify for the national finals to be held in Bulawayo on 22nd
of December 2023. The DJs will battle it out for the ultimate prize consisting of
USD3000, laptop, controller, cordless microphone, and sound monitor whilst the
First runner up will walk away with USD2000, studio monitor and cordless
microphone,” reads the statement.
