The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) deputy spokesperson Gift Ostallos Sizaba has today been cleared the criminal charges levelled against him and five other party members.
Siziba, Earnest Rufamoyo, Simbarashe Dube, Lovewell Mwinde and Tendei Masotsha were accused of decampaigning a ZANU PF candidate for Pelandaba-Tshabalala constituency Soneni Moyo by removing his campaigning posters towards last year’s general elections.
Siziba and Moyo contested for the same constituency during the August 2023 disputed polls, with the fiery CCC hotshot winning the contest. Siziba was however recall by his party’s disputed Interim Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu.
Ostallos, as Siziba is popularly known, will be contesting again for the seat at the February 3 by-elections running as an independent after beinge barred from representing the main opposition CCC by Tshabangu.
Siziba and his co-accused got their freedom after the presiding Magistrate ruled that the State’s witness in chief gave contradicting statements.
