The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested a Blue Circle bus driver for raping and impregnating his wife’s younger sister aged 20 years in Chitungwiza.
The rogue bus driver started his wayward behavior in the absence of his wife last year in January, when his generous sister in law was about to perform her household chores in their matrimonial bedroom.
Realizing the presence of his sister’s wife in their bedroom, the “sex starved” blue circle bus driver, who was sleeping in bed, reportedly locked the door of the bedroom from inside to avoid any intruders, ruthlessly removed his sister in law under garments, and shamelessly raped her without protection.
It is alleged the “cruel” bus driver repeatedly raped his sister in law on different occasions until she fell pregnant in November last year. The victim then revealed the sexual abuse to her mother, and they made a report at the nearest police station leading to his uncle’s arrest this year.
ZRP Harare Provincial spokesperson Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the blue circle driver’s arrest in Chitungwiza while giving a narration of the whole story.
He said “The accused person is complainant’s uncle [sister’s husband]. Sometime in January 2023, the accused was at home whilst his wife had gone to work at Nyatsime College where she is a teacher. The complainant, who was residing with her sister at the place of occurrence, went to clean in the bedroom where the complainant was asleep.
“The accused person suddenly locked the bedroom door from inside. He forcibly removed the complainant’s pants and had sexual intercourse with her once without protection. Thereafter, the accused person raped the complainant several times on different occasions. On an unknown date in November 2023, the complainant realized that she was pregnant, and she revealed the abuse to her mother, Tracy Makseni, who advised the complainant to report the matter to the Police. On 01 January 2024, the complainant made a report at ZRP Zengeza, and the scene was attended. The accused person was arrested.”
