An alleged affair between a Harare man and his family’s house help has led to the man’s 42-year-old wife to drag him to court.
Media Kapfudza dragged her husband Joseph before the court, alleging that he had an affair with their maid, who is 17 years old. Kapfudza claimed that her husband intended to take their maid as his second wife when the two appeared before Harare magistrate Tamara Chibindi.
She dramatically claimed that her husband wanted a baby boy, hence his alleged adultery ways because the couple has five girl children from their 27-year-old marriage.
Kapfudza also accused her husband of sexually abusing her, allegedly forcing her to try and conceive at the age of 42 years which could expose her to health complications. She also submitted that her husband kept a firearm in the house and was always chasing her away from their bedroom.
Her husband, however, denied the allegations labelling his wife as a “great liar”.
Joseph alleged that problems in their marriage were caused by Media’s infidelity and disrespect ever since she acquired a degree.
He claimed his wife had once cheated on him for six months before he discovered the affair.
