A 22 year old Kambuzuma was allegedly robbed before being raped by a “good samaritan” who had offered her a lift.
The suspect is alleged to have demanded that she wipe her private parts with her panties before grabbing the soiled undergarment and keeping it.
According to a report made to the Police, the alleged victim, who was coming from a party in Kuwadzana Extension suburb, boarded the lift on Bulawayo after the suspect offered to ferry her to Kambuzuma.
It is alleged that the suspect passed by Cold Comfort suburb, where he was dropping off his friend, who was in the front passenger seat. Upon leaving Cold Comfort, he allegedly drove to an open space in Warren Park D New stands, opposite Gracelands, where he allegedly robbed the victim of her Samsung F13 cellphone valued at USD150.
He allegedly then proceeded to rape her twice without protection, and ordered her to wipe her vagina with her underwear.
Moments later, the man took the woman’s underwear and started the car engine. He then ordered the woman to disembark while the vehicle was in motion, before speeding off into the darkness. The victim later made a report at Warren Park police station.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Harare provincial spokesperson Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the incident and said investigations are underway.
