In a startling incident that left almost every resident in Churu Farm with shock, an unknown prophet only identified as Paul reportedly rap*d a mentally disturbed 20 year old woman at his shrine last month.
According to a report made to the police, the man of cloth approached the victim when she was left alone at home on an unknown date last month, and ordered her to follow him to his shrine, and the woman complied.
Upon arriving at the shrine, the unknown prophet removed the mentally challenged woman’s clothes and raped her once without protection, before threatening to kill the victim if she divulged the shameful abuse to anyone.
On an unknown date, on the same month, the man of God allegedly sexually abused the victim without protection for the second time, leading the victim to disclose the matter to her mother, and they made a report to the police.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Harare provincial spokesperson Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the incident and said investigations are underway.
He said, “The accused and the complainant are not related. Complainant is mentally disturbed. Sometime in June 2024, around 0800 hours, the accused person approached the complainant at her place of residence where she was alone. He told the complainant to follow him to his shrine, and she agreed. Upon arrival at the shrine, the accused removed complainant’s clothes and raped her once without protection. After the act, the accused threatened to kill the complainant if she reveals the matter to anyone.
“On an unknown date during the same month, the accused approached the complainant again and raped her once without protection. Complainant later divulged the matter to her mother on 02 July 2024. A report was made at ZRP Glenview. Scene was attended, and no arrest was made. Complainant was referred to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital for medical examination.”
