An unknown Harare car dealer who had boarded a lift from Guzzlers Night Club in Kuwadzana 6 reportedly vanished with a Nissan X trail vehicle of a Dzivarasekwa man along Kubatana Street, when the owner had parked beside the road to relieve himself on July 21 this month.
According to a report made to the police, the victim was at Guzzler’s night club reversing his vehicle on his way to Dzivarasekwa when the alleged car dealer approached him and asked for a lift to section one, and the driver accepted.
Along the way, it is reported the driver stopped the car to relieve himself, leaving the keys on ignition, and the passenger took advantage to jump on the driver’s seat and drove off without the him.
The Nissan X trail owner later reported the matter to the police, but the alleged Harare car dealer was not located.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Harare provincial spokesperson Luckmore Chakanza narrated the story and said investigations are underway.
“Circumstances On 21 July 2024 around 0100 hours, the complainant was at Guzzlers Nite Club Kuwadzana 6 reversing his vehicle, a Nissan X Trail, intending to go to Dzivarasekwa. when he was approached by the accused person asking for transport to Dzivarasekwa Section 1, and the complainant accepted.
“On their way along Kubatana Street in Dzivarasekwa Section 1, the complainant got off the vehicle to relieve himself, leaving the car keys on the ignition. The accused person jumped onto the driver’s seat and drove away, with the motor vehicle leaving the complainant. The complainant proceeded to ZRP Dzivarasekwa and filed a report. ZRP Dzivarasekwa attended the scene, and no arrests or recoveries were made,” said Chakanza.
