Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Dr. Tamer Almassri, last week implored the international community to impose sanctions against Israel for its continued military action in Gaza.
According to Dr. Almassri, Israeli military action in Gaza has left over 49 480 Palestinians dead, with 91 128 missing and 2.2 million displaced.
He said Israeli forces are abusing Palestinian prisoners, insisting they might be selling human organs, as noticed on some prisoners returning home without body parts like kidneys, hearts and skins.
Responding to the Israeli “war crimes” in a statement on the Global Day of Support for Gaza Friday, the Palestinian diplomat said:
“We are calling for imposition of legal sanctions on Israel encompassing diplomatic, economic, and financial aspects, ending all other forms of complicity with Israel’s illegal military occupation, and reactivating the special committee of the United Nations to combat apartheid to help eradicate the apartheid regime in Israel and hold those responsible to account.
“The occupation state should also be suspended from its membership in the United Nations, stripping it of its privileges and membership rights.”
Dr. Almassri said Palestinians will fight for their freedom to emancipate themselves from what he described as a “brutal occupation” from Israel.
“We reiterate that the Palestinian people will use all means guaranteed by international law to defend themselves against this brutal occupation, assuring that Palestinians will never raise the white flag,” he added.
