A 24-year-old Kwekwe woman was arrested in a tragic case of domestic violence after repeatedly beating her husband with a burning log and hitting him on the head with a pot, which ultimately led to his death.
The incident occurred at Makande village in Silobela, last week.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the unfortunate event, which resulted in the arrest of Liona Mbulawa for murder.
“Police in Kwekwe arrested Liona Mbulawa (24) in connection with a case of murder which occurred at Makande village, Chief Malisa, Silobela on November 27, 2024 in which her husband Brighton Dube (29) died.
“The suspect hit the victim with a pot on the head before striking him with burning log, several times all over the body, after a domestic dispute,” ZRP national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi said in a statement.
