Palestine Appeals for Global Action Against Israeli Aggression in the West Bank and Gaza

The Palestinian Embassy in Zimbabwe has expressed grave concern over the harrowing impact of ongoing Israeli military offensives on Palestinian women in the occupied West Bank and Gaza.

In a recent statement, the embassy condemned the continuous violations of fundamental human rights, highlighting the unbearable suffering of Palestinian women who endure threats to their lives, homes, and safety.

The statement revealed alarming statistics about the crisis in Gaza with over 12,316 Palestinian women having lost their lives, 162,000 afflicted with infectious diseases caused by inhumane siege conditions, and 50,000 pregnant women tragically experiencing stillbirths. Additionally, 2,000 women and girls have been permanently disabled due to limb amputations.

Ambassador Tamer Almassri strongly condemned these actions, describing them as a deliberate attempt to uproot Palestinians from their land. “The systematic displacement, forced expulsion, and resettlement efforts are part of a broader strategy to erase the Palestinian identity. These attempts, however, will not succeed. The Palestinian people remain steadfast in their pursuit of justice and their rightful goal of an independent state of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital,” he stated.

The embassy also called on the international community to take decisive action, urging nations to hold Israel accountable for alleged crimes of genocide and to implement sanctions against the occupation state.

The embassy emphasized the moral responsibility of the global community to recognize the rights of the Palestinian people, especially women, who remain among the most vulnerable in this ongoing conflict.

“The international community has a moral obligation to hold Israel accountable for its genocide crimes and impose sanctions on the occupation state. The world cannot turn a blind eye to the suffering of the Palestinian people, particularly women, who are the most vulnerable in this conflict. It is essential to recognize the state of Palestine and acknowledge the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

“The State of Palestine urgently calls upon the international community to Implement targeted sanctions against the occupying state to pressure it to cease its aggression and protect Palestinian lives, facilitate the immediate and unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian women and children, and work towards a just and lasting resolution to the conflict, based on international law and UN resolutions,” the embassy explained in a statement.
